Heeeee's baaaack..... yes friends, ScottyJ has entered the spiderhole and visited for a week. He also ended up on three podcasts in a week- I think that's a record! He did find time to talk a little politics with me, too. :-)

We couldn't decide on a topic, so we asked Twitter and Facebook friends. The show is several of the responses.

LONG show- and hour and 23 minutes. I debated splitting it into two shows, then decided if you need a break, you can pause the show and finish at a later date! Make sure you hear challenge I propose to Scott at the end! (around an hour in if you'd like to skip ahead)

    -Opening: one stoned Kermit
-Scott makes the podcast guest circuit:
      -Love Long and Prosper
      -A Geek and His Wife
-So what are we gonna talk about?
-Should public teachers share their faith affiliation?
-In hard economic times, are we more inclined to give, or keep what we have for our own?
-Yes, we're going to talk about Sarah Palin. Our apologies.
    - Should the President bow to other world leaders?
-Hangin' your laundry... what's the problem?
    -HOA's... communism or socialism?
-What would be our ideal political system?
    -ScottyJ gets a turkey challenge!

Busy month for yours truly, I get you all caught up in this episode. Had some great experiences I want to share. Also- it's the Democrats turn to be yelled at!

-Busy busy busy... that's my name, right?
-Arizona is sort of like Sarah Palin. Nice to look at, but I can't stand her politics.
    -Volunteering for the United Way
-This is the Phoenix Link for Project Homeless Connect, but I'm sure through the United Way site you can find others in your area.
-Song: Lee Coulter, I Would Love
    -Sarah Silverman solves world hunger.
-Last episode I yelled at Republicans. Now it's the Democrats turn.
-Why do Dems have to behave exactly like Republicans?
    -Glenn Greenwald blog post 1
    -Post 2

A month! No, I have not pod-faded into the ether... but the big thing keeping me from podcasting was a really bad cold killing my voice and my nose for almost 3 weeks!

So I'm back, and grabbed my partner in crime Dave Tobkin across the internets for a chat.  Yeah, it's all one big liberal whine in this one, so that's your warning. ;-)  There has been so much craziness about Obama and what he *could* do to the country, we both needed to vent and ask one big question: Why is it ok when THEY do it?

-Opening: What the hell is that???
-Dave joins me to help me get a show out faster
-Protests. You won't hear a sound cannon at a tea party. Why is that?
-Singing songs to a President is just part of the job.
-Facebook poll asking about killing Obama, or a "Taking Back America" conference. What is truly more dangerous?
-Racism, there is truth in what Carter said.
-There is truth in everything, including conspiracy theories
    -Dani reads a book

Part 3, also part 2 I guess of weeding through the health care reform issue. Also the last episode that will be completely focused on the topic. At least for now. ;-)

*Opening: Senator John McCain and his town hall peeps
*THIS mom can tell her daughter they can run for President.
    *Two recent health care polls:
      - People are falling for the myths of reform
      - Yet, a majority want everyone to have some sort of health care coverage
*Bill Moyers on Real Time w/Bill Maher
    *Politifact and their awesome Truth-O-Meter
*What will happen if this health care coverage bill passes?
      - How about nothing?
      - Extra consumer protections
    *Systemic changes
*It's a question of morals, and ethics, and if that was the focus, the answer would be simple.
*Linda Peeno testimony before Congress on how she saved millions for insurance companies at the expense of American's health.

Part 2 of weeding through the health care debate, which has turned into a part 1 of 2 on it's own!

Lazy show notes... will fill in the blanks later today or this evening!
    ---
    Update: Fillin' in the blanks:

    - Matt Taibbi talks about his new article on health care in Rolling Stone Magazine
    - who knew "Hitler" was a buzz word?
    - headlines from Democracy Now
    - More from Matt
    - Feedback:
     - Nobilis gives me another angle
     - Michael thinks any sort of real reform just isn't going to happen
    - SO glad it's not my job to read that damn bill
    - Balanced sites for health care information:
     - Fact Check
     - Politifact
    - Some of the lies floating around:
     - covering abortions
     - Death panels
    - Bill Maher has some thoughts about Sarah Palin and Facebook
    - More falsehoods, like health care for illegal immigrants
    - and once more from Matt, and why he thinks this bill won't work

I cut this off halfway through, but there is plenty more to talk about and will be up within the next week. Thanks for listening!

Holy cow- it's an episode! Don't let the title fool ya- this may say "specious", but you'll just have to listen to find out why!

As is becoming common when I have house guests, I stick a mic in front of them and ask them to perform. My guests this time are my beautiful sister-in-law Valina, and her witty and fun BF Alan. What are we talking about? Well.....

*And your TMI moment in this episode is….

    *Why don’t you blog, Alan?

My guest for the show is ScottyJ, and we take a serious turn this time and talk religion. It's such an important topic, and so very important to so many people there was no other way to discuss it other than seriously. Ran a little long on this one, a bit over an hour, but wanted to get it all in one episode. Hope you enjoy, and please understand that the intent here is simply to question, and not to offend.

Now, the name of this was originally supposed to be "F**k the Vote". However I heard that iTunes would pull it right off, and I don't want that to happen.

This is part 1 of my voting morning 2008. You hear from me, my daughter, ScottyJ, and a Proposition 102 supporter.

Back from San Diego- and realized I had no time to write a show this week.

Soooo.... I called up my partner in crime Dave and we chatted for a bit, because it's easier to talk to someone else with no script than alone. A bit ended up being an hour and a half! The hate machine kept churning over the past couple of weeks, so we started in on that, and began listening to voicemail from Nobilis. There is PLENTY more coming in part 2, but for now I give you Part 1.

    Recorded Wednesday, October 15th.

The show no one's been waiting for!  Since the goal of Valentine's Day is sex, it's the perfect time to talk about it. Scotty J returns to chat it up, and we attempt to figure out why the hell the US is so repressed and afraid of something that is as commonplace as food.

Warning: Listening to this episode could cause blindness and hairy palms. I also cannot express just how NOT worksafe this show is. If you are offended by just about anything regarding sex, I'd skip this one.  As a matter of fact, if you just plain get offended easily, I'd skip it.

Oh yeah, you're all gonna listen. ;-)

An unexpected month between shows, apparently the effectiveness of a woman president should be questioned, why debates are practically pointless in an internet-world, not to mention that the media is the biggest violator of the first amendment.  2007? Buh-bye, good riddance, and don’t let the door hit you in the ass on the way out…

Two years after Hurricane Katrina broke down levies which destroyed New Orleans, there still has not been significant progress made.  What's the hold up? Pick an issue. People today still argue about who's to blame for all the mishaps during and after.  This episode tries to put the timeline in perspective.

It all began on this day, August 26 2005, when federal assistance was first requested by all of the gulf coast states.

Because it’s so close to Christmas, I shook up the format for this episode a bit.  Since I began the podcast in March, this is my first holiday of podcasting- I hope everyone enjoys it!

I apologize for the horrendous audio quality.  I have audio from my travels to Boston the first week of December- and how they were halted halfway through for a day in Chicago. Then the interview with Bruce is not the best quality, though with all of it I tried to clean it up the best I can.  (Note to Santa: iRiver? Please?  I think I’ve been good, though don’t talk to _______ and ______, and most certainly not _______, - ok?)

    Here’s the rundown:

    -Intro: Mostly News

    -Promo: Public Nuisance Radio

-Live from Chicago, and the truth about being incoherent at 5 in the morning.

    - Song: Re-gifting for the holidays

-Chicago part two: Time flies when you’re listening to a podcast

    -Deep thought about computer over-abundance

    -Please don’t mace him!

-watch lists and no fly lists and the government, oh my!

-will she ever leave the Windy City?

    - Song: Sick of Christmas (sung by Santa)

-Podcast Pickle, and how awesome the number 57 is.

-last installment of my interview with Bruce Carter.  Still chock full of great discussion.  We cover Race, class, and my love/hate relationship with Lou Dobbs, the sham war on terror, and sham Democrats who still acknowledge a War on Terror, and tons more!

(for those who might want to jump ahead (but really, who would want to?), the interview portion is 35 minutes)

-Don’t forget that voicemail line!  206-350-0669

-Final Song: Sleigh Ride by the Hipcola

All songs can be found on the podsafe music network

Merry Christmas!!  See you in 2007!

Yes folks, it's snowbird season down here... it's a sea of RV's, Cadillacs, and people who can't see over their steering wheel while driving 25 mph in a 40, and weaving.

But enough about me.  Actually a good portion of them are Canadian.  No wonder there is a gravy shortage!

Then I switch from stereotyping the elderly to ranting about racial issues, and a particular interview on CNN that sort of ticked me off.  Here's the lowdown:

*Opening from Daryl at the Poddog Show
*A teaser of a new podiobook coming your way from Tee Morris
    *Glenn Beck Interview
    *Message Board thread
    *Campaign Ad Article
    *Deep Holiday Thoughts
*Bruce talks about taking on the Teamsters Union, as well as Iraq and what drove him to speak out politically again.

    Episode #17:

Here it is Seekers- I take you on my voting-journey where I spew hate towards the two men who kept me up WAY too long the night before, as well as hate for the Kia Sedona, and the weather in November. So many people called in to tell me their voting experiences, and I play them all throughout the show.  It was all too interesting not to play!  Here’s the rundown:

    - Tee Morris co-author of Podcasting for Dummies, and host of The Survival Guide to Writing Fantasy says VOTE!

-Charles from Mostly News talks voting in Texas

-I rant while putting gas in my van

-- one of the men I curse

    --and here’s the other one

    -Charles gets cut off

-Advice on finding your polling place… dammit

-Jake and Chris from Just Not Right talk about being the youngest voters in Utah

-So I vote- how very, uh…*yawn*- but the Bible quotes were nice!

    -Pickle-bumping

-My last observation on the whole thing, and can someone get me a Jumbo Jack with Cheese?

-Sherri (whom I used to work with back in my legal assistant days) from Chandler AZ

-Jamie and Joe from Afterhell join me for a quick chat from up in OR

-Karen from Kalifornia, from, well... California!

-Melodee (always makes me smile when family calls in!) from NYC

-Omar (again, love that family!) from San Diego

-I talk about Tee Morris some more, and the guilt trip I took him on

-Let’s throw in a Deep Thought

-So are we a liberal nation or not?

-Aaron from The Big Show- he’s simply fabulous!

-what I think of the President’s statement about the election

-Kick it!  Mp3’s killed the radio star.  Cruisebox takes us out this time. Do I play the clean or explicit version?

    Episode #14

A full-size episode to keep you entertained while I head out of town for a week.  But it's worth a listen, because I get a little change of perspective on that issue of mine that keeps popping up out of nowhere, smoking.

As usual, it takes a Canadian to get me to think.  No, not that Canadian.

Then Dave and I finish our talk from like, two weeks ago. We cover alot of good ground I think.
    -unlikely news sources
-gas prices go down, therefore President Bush must totally rock!
-Insanefilms.com and some disturbing video. Military bombings set to death metal.
    -Is Osama fab today?
    -Healthcare- right or privilege?
    -Protecting society as a whole
    -Rich is overrated.

    *Promo: Mostly News
    *This man's thoughts are smokin'!
    *Another Deep Thought from Mike
*This one's for you, Daryl! It's the only song that has been going through my head while putting this show together.

Well, here I am again.  Please don't get used to the consistancy.  Though I have been more organized with my time lately, so who knows.  Still, as soon as I say it will be every 1 1/2 to 2 weeks, it will be a month before I get another show out.  Hope you are all enjoying the ride right now, at any rate.

Katrina?  Who's Katrina?  That seems to be the attitude right now as we head into the 5th anniversary of 9/11.  Oh yes, I had something to say about it...
Then a special guest with his own "Deep Thoughts"... and the beginning of a new segment.

Also, I have a belated Happy Labor Day for you, followed by the final installment of my talk with Jack. (I figure we are ALL on first-name basis by now!)  ;-)

Guess what?  I got my very first voicemail!!  I am so overcome with emotion, I play it for you.

I found another great song to close out the show with, it will bring all you hippies back to the days of Dylan...

A year ago Hurricane Katrina became the biggest natural disaster ever to hit the United States.
A new documentary is out by Spike Lee about Katrina, and after watching, I had a few things to say.

Had so much to say I even skipped the headlines this time, but I have a challenge out there for you...
Also, part two of my chat with Jack Ward about ideas, and Ideas the radio show.  I need to apologize because this recording suddenly became REALLY crappy, and no matter what I did I couldn't get rid of it.

All of this recorded during an early morning thunderstorm, so I have background music!

Speaking of music, stick around for this week's tune... it's orally satisfying...

Oh dear me.  Been a couple weeks, eh?  Well, I've returned, and am just chock-full of Back-to-School and Canadian goodness.

So much Canadian goodness, I had to change the title of the episode!  But you'll hear more about (aboot?) that when you listen.  There's lots of different stuff in this episode, and I decided there was so much I would give times to where things begin during the show, in case you wanna skip through.

But I know, y'all would NEVER do that to this legend in her own mind! It's best to hear her all the way through, especially because she's been experimenting with her editing/sound mixing skills... please tell me what you think!

3:50- the younger Seekers give a theme park report
8:20- a message for Daryl at the Poddog show
    10:53- Headlines
    18:05- Part 1 Interview

Oh yeah, I wrote "part 1".  You'll like this beginning though. Yours Truly gets put on the spot and is asked to explain herself about her views on smoking and guns.  esqueezeme??  Did he forget he's on MY show now?

Just a little quickie from me before my keyboard melts. I thought I was heading out to San Diego next week for a BREAK from the heat- from what I'm hearing from my friends there, my only break will be in the evenings.

It's HOT out there people, and the proof is in the pudding.  The pudding that used to be frozen yogurt.

But first, let me tell you about a real left wing nut job...

I took a breather from my new favorite podiobook to throw together (haha- throw together she says) another podcast, and uh, clear the air about some issues that have been on my mind.

Since I have no interviews lined up, I reached through the computer, grabbed Dave, and hit record. You know?  I think the planet will be happier for it. :-)

WooHOOO!  I'm podcasting and partying, as the message board hits the two-year mark this week!  Grab a party hat and join in the fun!

Also, part two of my wicked fun interview with John Hawkins of Right Wing News.  We talk 2008 elections, whether the 2004 were stolen or not, why Hillary is faking her moderateness, and about what a nice liberal I am! ;-)

We end with a catchy country tune that would make any conservative roll their eyes...

    Fun fun fun!

Oh what a show!  First I hear an amazing episode of a podcast at the gym that nearly causes me to fall off my stairmaster. What listening DID do is get me to race home, and change my entire intro and promo to this podcast. (which I will definitely use for the next episode- but this podcast was great and it was one of those instant inspiration things!)

Then, the first of my two-part interview with my first conservative guest.  It was such a great interview, I had to split it because we chatted so long!  This is also my first time stepping out of my normal comfy zone of network friends.... and ya know I didn't do half bad. ;-)

Enjoy- and please tell me what you think any of the topics discussed, or my charming interview skills...

Was not feeling my groove this episode.. but I managed to get my s**t together.  Panel didn't quite come together either, so I conned my dear partner in political crime to chat with me once again about the state of our Union (as in the United States, not Dave and I personally!)

Word of caution!  I can't believe I have to stick a disclaimer on this one, but ohhhhhh do I ever! If you've got a problem with talking about self love bluntly, this episode is not for you! (Boy, that should get ya to listen!)
