Wed, 15 April 2009 Happy Tax Day! I'm sure everyone knows about all the wonderful Tea Parties taking place across the US (which regardless of what anyone says about the mainstream media, still received way more attention than ANY Iraq War protest). There happened to be a gathering here in Gilbert, so I went to see what all the hub-bub was about. Yesterday I wrote about the Tea Parties and my curiosity about where all these protesters were the past 8 years. So today I decided to be a bystander and gather some audio. Photos too! Wed, 8 April 2009 Not a long show- but something I had to share. This is an interview from today's Democracy Now with a 12-year old girl who testified in Vermont supporting her mother's right to marry her partner. Vermont overturned the governor's veto, therefore same sex marriage will become legal in yet another state. This topic is very important to me personally, and this interview is exactly what we need more of- hearing from the voices of those who are in loving families of same-sex parents. This will always be an equal-rights issue, no matter how those against same sex marriage try and muddy the waters with their skewed ideas of what is moral. Spread the word, let these voices be heard! Tue, 4 November 2008 Happy Election Day! Wanted to make sure I got the audio from my live podcast at Podcamp AZ in so it was still semi-relevant. This was a great talk with Dan from Love Long and Prosper, and everyone's favorite guest ScottyJ. We cover the presidential candidates, and several of Arizona's propositions that are going to be decided on. Today, even! Keep watching the feed because I will be recording from the polling line, and getting an 11-yr-old perspective on the voting process. No, not Scotty- my daughter is coming to the polls with us! Then tonight- starting at 7pm eastern, head to the live chat on the forum, and spend the evening with us as we watch all the results trickle in! It's more fun than any sporting event I've ever seen!!! Call in with your post-voting and election thoughts: 206-337-1026 Comments[0] |
Sat, 21 June 2008 Hey friends! I'm writing to you from Kansas, well into my big-ass road trip. We're having a pretty good time, and if you've been following around on the mamacutler blog, then there is no need to repeat the happenings! Anyway, while I've been away, a new podcast friend of mine, The Snarky Avenger, posted an interview he did with me a few weeks ago, and I'd like to share it with all of you. We touch a little bit on this podcast, but the bulk of it is the other side of Dani, the voice acting and audio addict side! You can visit The Snarky Avenger and check out his show Snark Invested Waters over at http://thesnarkyavenger.com/. Enjoy! Hope everyone's summer is off to a good start, and I'll catch you all later! ~Dani Comments[0] |

Tue, 15 January 2008 In honor of Martin Luther King's birthday 79 years ago today, a speech originally given in 1967. Also one I personally think encompasses what he was about even more than his "I Have A Dream" speech."I Have A Dream", made popular by the media, I feel because it was the easiest for white America. This speech is much more telling of the times and the viewpoints of Dr. King. A perspective that can still ring hauntingly true today in many instances. Yes, we've come far, but we as a country still have far to go when it comes to race relations. Enjoy, and peace. *Biography of MLK *Respectfully swiped from The Lost Massey Lectures Podcast *The TS Theme song: "Camp Walk"- Derek K. Miller. Split, but finally hear it in its entirety. Tue, 3 July 2007 On this day, when we are all out at our BBQ's and drinking our beers and watching those fireworks while waving the flag, it is my wish everyone takes pause to really consider some things about our country today.A gift to all the Seekers- a poem I always think of during this holiday. Mostly out of amazement that his words can still ring so true today. Enjoy, and I hope I didn't butcher it too much!
